The Lock August 2003 |
Rebuilt in 1950, the downstream gates of Saint-Malo port lock were highly corroded, and their watertightness was defective. Moreover, they were almost not repairable. Therefore, they had to be replaced. One month was necessary to do it; August 2003 was choosen, because the port activity was less significant during this month. Of course, no ship could go in or out the port during the works. The works were broken down into several steps : |
